I really don't hold out much hope for any speed increase with the Oli and alky and solid, but do see where it might help greatly with wood.

I think that the overall wieght savings of not having to carry any fuel at all will make up for the weight of the Olicamp. In otherwords, If I end up with a lighter set up for wood burning over the canister, I'm still aheaad of the game. If the time savings is significant with the Olicamp vs the Stoic, I may opt to choose the Oli, especially when mas distance per day is required for a long distance trip. An extra 15 minutes on the trail each day can bring take you 10 miles further in a week.
SargeVininghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13953058448874483643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1147944621013401905.post-39889720065268361482013-08-28T12:50:48.319-05:002013-08-28T12:50:48.319-05:00Hey guy, lostagain from the hammock forum! Love yo...Hey guy, lostagain from the hammock forum! Love your blog. I may have to take it up myself. You an di are close in age and i love that, like me, you look for less weight without obsessing over every gram. Also like me you've got mulitple setups for different hikes. I've by far got more coooking gear than anything else except hydration gear. and backpacks. I've read several of your posts and have enjoyed each one. Especially this one as I've considered the Olicamp system. BUT...I already have a 1L TI pot and really can't justify the weight of the Oli vs the TI (from TOAKS Outdoors). It's made me a believer in TI for weight savings as well as boil times.
See you on the trail or in the forum!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08861257200565918181noreply@blogger.com
